PERSONAL CHEF SERVICES POLICY:
WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOUR EVENT/COOK DATE:
Please make sure your kitchen is available to Chef Kara at the arrival time of the event or the weekly cook date. Have as much counter space cleared off as possible. Have as much refrigerator space cleared as possible. Also, if there is a dishwasher, it would be best to have it emptied prior to Chef Kara’s arrival (all large pots/pans will be hand-washed). In the event you are not at home at the time Chef Kara needs to enter your home to prepare for your event/cook date, please make sure to leave her with detailed instructions on entering your home, as well as a cell phone number at which to reach you. Minor menu substitutions may be made as needed due to the availability of seasonal ingredients and/or product quality. Any significant changes will be approved in writing prior to the date of the event. Chef Kara is not responsible for reasonable/accidental wear and tear on kitchen equipment, or facilities, or for breakage.
Cancellation/Payment Policy for Booking Weekly Personal Chef Services:
The Client must inform Chef Kara of any anticipated cancellations with a minimum of two weeks’ notice. If you cancel after the cut-off day and time, a cancellation fee of $100.00 will be charged to you. This is due to the nature of the Personal Chef business and the difficulty of scheduling another client to fill that day. Payment for your weekly appointment is due by the end of day, of your appointment date. Failure to submit payment on time will result in a $50.00 fee, that will be charged to you. Should Chef Kara become ill or have an emergency that may conflict with your scheduled cooking date, she will contact you with as much notice as possible. If the client needs to pause services for more than two weeks in a row, a fee of $120.00 will be charged to the client to hold their appointment day/time for a total of 4 weeks. After this time frame, if the client still needs to pause, another $120.00 fee will be charged in order to keep their respective appointment time for up to one more week or will be required to terminate. This policy is subject to change without notice.
SERVICE TERMS & CONDITIONS:
Payments: Event payments must be made directly to Chef Kara by Venmo or Cash. Final Payment is due on the day of the event, once the services have been rendered. Any amount due that is not paid when due, Chef Kara may engage in an attorney for collection purposes, or in connection with any bankruptcy or insolvency proceedings, whether or not litigation is commenced, then you shall pay the attorney’s fees, expenses, and court costs in addition to the full amount due hereunder.
Deposit/Cancellation (For Private Events): A deposit is required for a private event, Chef Kara will set the amount at 50% of the total estimated price. If you are forced to cancel your event with less than 2 days by 12:00 p.m. notice, then your deposit will be held for the cancellation fee. If your event is cancelled within 5 days of the event a cancellation fee of $100.00 will be assessed. If any deposit remains after the $100.00 fee, the rest will be credited back to you.
