Kitchen Access & Preparation Guidelines for Chef Kara

    • Please ensure your kitchen is available to Chef Kara at the scheduled arrival time for your event or weekly cook date.
    • Clear as much counter space as possible and make room in the refrigerator for ingredients.
    • If you have a dishwasher, please empty it before Chef Kara arrives. (Note: Large pots and pans will be washed by hand.)
    • If you won’t be home when Chef Kara arrives, provide detailed instructions for entering your home, along with a cell phone number where you can be reached.
    • Minor menu changes may occur based on seasonal availability or ingredient quality. Any significant changes will be approved in writing in advance.
    • Chef Kara is not responsible for normal wear and tear on kitchen equipment or for accidental breakage.

Weekly Personal Chef Services – Cancellation & Payment Policy

  • Cancellations must be made at least two weeks in advance. Late cancellations will incur a $150 fee due to the difficulty of rescheduling on short notice.
  • Payment is due by the end of your appointment day. Late payments will incur a $50 fee.
  • If Chef Kara is unable to make your scheduled cook date due to illness or emergency, she will notify you as early as possible.
  • If you need to pause service for more than two consecutive weeks, a $150 fee will be charged to hold your time slot for up to 4 weeks.
    • If the pause extends beyond 4 weeks, an additional $150 fee will hold the spot for one more week. After that, the time slot may be forfeited unless services resume.

Service Terms & Conditions

Payments:
 Event payments must be made directly to Chef Kara via Venmo. Final payment is due on the day of the event, after services are completed. If payment is not received on time and collection efforts are necessary (including legal or bankruptcy proceedings), the client will be responsible for all attorney fees, court costs, and related expenses in addition to the outstanding balance.

Deposits & Cancellations (Private Events):

A 50% deposit is required to secure a private event booking.

  • If you cancel within 5 days of the event, a $150 cancellation fee will apply.
  • If you cancel with less than 2 days’ notice (by 12:00 p.m.), your full deposit will be retained as the cancellation fee.
  • Any remaining deposit, after fees are deducted, will be refunded.
